The following is a partial list of the projects we have done: Aegent Energy Advisors Inc.Sys-X developed an energy consulting services portal using CA's CleverPath Portal solution. Divided into two discrete sections, one provides useful energy information to the public, the other value added services to registered clients. These customers have access to a highly diverse set of collaboration, statistical and analytical tools including the ability to dynamically produce visual graphs and data reports on a series of energy usage and cost related information. The portal was designed to allow Aegent staff to manage all content and security within the site through provided web-based tools. By eliminating the need to continuously involve developers, Aegent was able to reduce maintenance costs and provide quicker support times for requested changes. Bioscrypt Inc.Bioscrypt Inc. retains Sys-X to supply Design and Development services for a number of clients and projects. These projects span multiple technologies but are always related to the pioneering technology that Bioscrypt Inc. has invented in the area of identity verification technologies. Canada LifeOur largest project at Canada Life has been the creation of a system for capturing information about employees of Canada Life clients for the express purpose of administering their benefit plans. With this web-based system, the administrators can do any number of things that were once managed directly on the mainframe. As well, users can select their benefits in a flexible system. During this project Sys-X Corporation designed the data model, architected the complete end-to-end solution for moving the data from the mainframe to the client and built everything but the mainframe components. CCL Industries Inc. (Container Division)Sys-X was engaged to deliver a custom designed Manufacturing Execution System that is utilized globally in all container facilities. The system provides unparalleled monitoring capabilities to shop floor operators for local and plant wide machinery and also provides detailed and statistical data to plant and corporate level management. Technologies utilized include: .NET Framework, VB.NET, MS SQL Server, DTS, MS Access, and DataXchange (Siemens PLC). Cedara Software Corp.Cedara (formerly ISG Technologies), a world leader in medical imaging technology, retained Sys-X to create an internet-based license management system to enable 7/24 access to licenses to their products by a world wide sales force. Dealer CommunicationsOriginally CAJAD (Canadian Association of Japanese Auto Dealers), this organization provides value added services for the national automobile dealer network. Sys-X designed and developed a custom portal to provide Dealer Communications with the ability to provide many of its services online. It provides an industry outlet for classified ads, discussion forums, and information dissemination. One key benefit is that the administrator of the portal can manage and update the content, branding and design without requiring any programming ability as a custom-made content management system is embedded. DMR/Australia's National RailReconciling a diverse set of requirements, Sys-X provided the architectural expertise which enabled Australia's National Rail, a global transportation company, to build a shipment tracking system which enabled customers to locate their cargo around the clock from anywhere on the planet. This multi-tier system utilized JAVA on NT through to ORACLE on UNIX and DB/2 on MVS at the back-end. Dye & Durham, a Division of The Cartwright Group Ltd.Sys-X has created a full service web based search and registration management system called e-service for Dye & Durham. Using this system, internal users are able to manage all of the corporate search and registration orders received from their clients quickly and efficiently. Clients create orders on a 7/24 basis and these orders are processed with the 3rd party (mostly government) data storage facilities utilizing direct connections to these parties where they exist. Where they do not exist, the internal users are able to obtain the results and provide them back to the requesting clients using the system. Results are converted to PDF files before being emailed to the requesting clients along with automatically generated Invoices. The entire system has been built in a dynamic way allowing new search and registration products to be added to the system using product description files with little or no custom development required. Dye & Durham has recently become a Service Provider to the Ontario Government and the eService platform is the mechanism by which they fulfill their responsibilities. Honeywell LimitedSys-X designed and developed a complex web-based project and resource management system designed to streamline and facilitate project planning and execution. The system is used throughout the Americas and couples costing and invoicing as well. MDS SciexSys-X provides expert software consulting services to this global leader in the research, design and production of mass spectrometers. Our first project included a database audit and design to ensure performance and requirements quality for a new mass spectrometer product system. We continue to provide support in various technologies as needed. Ministry of Natural ResourcesSys-X has supported and enhanced an existing application that is used for capturing, managing and searching geospatial metadata across heterogeneous organizations. The application supports a client data entry module, a distributed data collection and consolidation module and a web interface for searching the data by keywords and/or georeferencing information. OM TechnologiesSys-X has been retained to provide expert software design and database consulting services to OM. Specifically regarding integration of proprietary statistical analysis engines with third-party systems like the Aegent Energy Portal. SONY of Canada Inc.Sys-X Corporation has created a system for managing warranty card submissions. We have designed a data model to handle the data from a number of sources including warranty cards and then architected and built the system. The web-based system scans in cards (and imports the info from a number of other sources), scrubs it and then makes it available for query with a Java Servlet based Intranet web site. Thyssen Krupp (Elevator)Sys-X designed and developed an online reporting system that delivers the capability for their client base to view details regarding the service process. It is a customer centric dynamic system, which provides their customers the ability to review service data for all properties within Canada or a sub set of them and filter as far as service type or even service phase type. The system provides real-time data and is integrated to Thyssen Krupp's national call center system. UPS Logistics GroupThis project involved the creation of an order and inventory status application. The application allows end users to obtain status of individual shipments that are in process/transport as well as obtain the inventory status of particular products in the warehouse. The system was built in Java as a set of Java servlets with JSP and uses Oracle as the production database. It also uses JDBC as the access methodology and is hosted on JRun. The JDBC driver used was JSVR due to its enhanced performance capabilities. The system also uses JDBC to access a small Access control database containing information that was not permitted in the production Oracle environment. The system offers the users the ability to search for shipment and inventory information using a large number of search criteria. The data contained in the database is protected and only available to users with appropriate access. UPS client organizations and their users are able to query data that is applicable only to their products and shipments. Ventext CorporationSys-X was selected to design and develop a web-based portal (LoanTransact) to facilitate the convergence of legal and banking processes involved with commercial loans. One of its major capabilities is to provide a single source for automated documentation completion. Designed to use a self-service model, the system can generate a series of questionnaires, which will be used to complete the required documentation for the specific transaction. All parties involved are privy to a collaboration mechanism, which minimizes effort, time and costly documentation errors. Once the required documentation set has been completed and approved by all parties it can be either downloaded or the customer can utilize an integrated feature that securely sends the data to an authorized legal publishing firm for printing. |
